Communication

Our multicultural community

Do you need to develop ways to ensure that your services or products are reaching as many clients as possible?

Is communication with clients a barrier because, for example, all of your printed material is in English?

Do all of your potential clients understand what you have to offer?

Are your products and services suitable for a broad range of clients?

There may be two reasons why you are not reaching the widest number of clients possible. The first reason may be that your products or services are not meeting their needs. Or it may be that your products or services are not being made known to the broad range of clients who make up today's culturally diverse Australian community.

Working with your organisation can help to identify whether there is potential for you to expand your client base, and if so, what strategies are needed to reach a greater number of clients.

Preparing, revising and editing complex documents for a variety of audiences

Complex documents can become readable and accessible when written clearly and without jargon, and presented in an easy to read format.

Writing plain English client publications

Simple and clear English documents can also reduce or eliminate the need for translated documents in many instances, especially where the costs of translation make this uneconomical.

Organising and conducting staff training and community consultations

Staff training is essential when new policies and programs are being implemented. Sessions can be as short as two hours information sessions. Or they can be longer training sessions, covering a more extensive range of material in depth.
